Gratitude for Various Things

May 19, 2013 (2)

I’ve made a vow to myself that no matter how busy I may seem with other things (usually involving work), I will be posting here a few times a week. After all, I have plenty of pictures to show you, so even if that’s all, you have something to look at.

So being side-railed by breaking my arm last Saturday was a bit of a setback, but not too much. Yet.  It was not my drawing hand. What might change my routine is that now I’m supposed to talk to a surgeon on Thursday. When he called this morning he was ready to schedule me for tomorrow, but I wasn’t ready to commit before actually meeting the guy first. I’m afraid I’ll be too drugged up when I’m recovering to do a lot of posting.

I thought I’d put up these first two pictures to show how I changed the first one to make it into something really fun. Still not sure how to make it look good on a dark T-shirt. White I can do, dark will not work. Sorry, Donna and Elaine, I don’t have the t-shirt issues worked out yet. I have one on order to test the pink one on the Zazzle link, but I have to try this one at a time.

So I get such enthusiastic responses about this cat one, I have in the back of my mind to try some animal shapes with my sort of decoration. It’s been done before, I’ve seen coloring books with that idea, , but mine would be different.
Typing is a bit 0f a problem right now, and  it’s not going to get better for a while. The main difficulty is that my laptop is not in my lap because I can’t move it to my  lap, and it’s on a side table, a bit of an awkward arrangement. And even with full mobility of the fingers, they are getting tired. So here are a few more pictures for you, first, a favorite of mine with a bright yellow mat on it (no frame) and then some little ones I’ve been working on the last few days.

IMG_8794This one is about 4×4 inches without the mat.  $35.

I’ll be selling these next ones later as part of a project, but for now, they are just to show you what I’m able to do at the moment. If I work on larger pieces my huge ace bandage will drag over the ink and possibly spoil something. So I’m glad to have gotten started on them.

That’s it for now… I’m going to disable comment moderation to keep things easy for myself, so everyone play nice, and no spamming, okay?
Later everyone,
Jeanne

  1. I saw on J’s blog that you had broken your arm. I hope you feel better soon.

The small designs would make pretty ornaments.

  2. It came today!!! I cannot believe the packaging from a woman with one arm. Jeanne, I LOVE it! As we suspected all along, I will keep it. Thanks so much. Your artwork is far more intricate and beautiful than a computer screen can project.

  3. so glad it arrived safely! my son did the packaging. I’m very grateful to you.
